Based in Denver Colorado, USA - we are a small mom & pop home-based business.
Our approach to web page design is somewhat purist. We strive to create html documents using xhtml with external style sheets that validate as xhtml 1.0 strict.
Although it is possible to create our pages with "cheats" and "hacks" to overcome the many challenges that 1.0 strict presents, we prefer to avoid such work-arounds and instead follow the spirit as well as the rules of W3C's vision for modern web page design.
One of the results of closely following the xhtml 1.0 Strict standard is mark-up that is lean, clean and quick loading.
We build our pages on a windows operating system with a screen resolution of 1024x768 and browsers: Internet Explorer and FireFox (we believe these are the most commonly used settings and systems). Again, our pages will work within pretty much any operating system, screen resolution and browser - but content placement and characteristics will vary from one user to the next.
We incorporate "liquid design" - which is to say, we do not lock content into position. Instead the content on our pages flows to adjust automatically to the viewer's browser (brand & version), operating system, monitor size, and screen resolution. Another way of describing this approach is to say that your content will not look the same from one computer to the next. And, unfortunately at times, your content will not display with perfect alignment and symmetry.
Keeping your site visitor in charge of their experience by allowing them to change the font size and resize windows is recommended by Usability and Accessibility proponents.
A Little History - We began our study of web page design, part time, around the year 2000. As our studies proceeded we realized that the technologies involved in building, maintaining and development in the WWW industry were many, varied and indeed quite complex. We decided to carve out a little niche; we chose to specialize in building web pages using a high standard - xhtml 1.0 Strict; a solid foundation for any webpage and its future use.
We are not "Web Masters", developers, engineers, programmers, script writers, ...
Our humble goal is to build simple, affordable, standards compliant xhtml web pages. Instead of wearing many hats - we hope to become masterful under one.
